LNG Swan Private Limited (a subsidiary of Swan Energy Co., Ltd.) Black & Veatch has been awarded the contract of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for LNG (FLNG) in India.
Under the contract, Black and Veatch will provide the essential elements of the project, including LNG facilities at the dock and on land to grow 5 million tonnes per year (million metric tons) in Jafrabad in Gujarat.
The first and floating volume will connected back (FSRU) to the static dock and gasifying the imported LNG resupply to allow for delivery across the pipeline and tanker.
The FLNG Jafrabad project is expected to help India to double the capacity of LNG. And it is expected to begin in early 2020.
The director of Black Veatch India, Rajiv Menon, said the Indian government plans to increase its capacity to import LNG substantially in 2022. The project is an important step in this direction.
Jafrabad project and liquefied natural gas plant received at the Indian oil company Ennore, indicates that the industry confidence in Black & Veatch to achieve LNG projects.
The FSRU will built with an investment of INR5.600 million rupees ($ 869 million) at the next port of Jafrabad.
Swan has already acquired contracts to buy a 4.5MTPA 20-year production at the Jafrabad FLNG project. GPC has agreed to provide 1.5MTPA (GSPC) and 1 Mtpy to each of the Indian Oil Company (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Company (BPCL) and the Natural Gas and Oil Corporation (ONGC).
